Deck Surfaces

Cubic Mezzanines are available with a variety of deck surfaces:

Roof Deck With High Density Wood
Application: The most economical choice.
Ideal for pallet jacks or other heavy wheel loads.
• Standard high density wood is unfinished. Clear or gray seal is optional.

Roof Deck With Plywood Floor
Application: Comfortable walking surface.
• Solid, smooth plywood provides an excellent surface for foot traffic and lighter cart traffic. Plywood is also an excellent underlayment for carpeting or tile.
• Numerous available plywood options include fire retardant plywood, high pressure applied polyurethane panels, and polytextured plywood (for heavier wheel loads). Each possess distinct advantages for different applications.

Roof Deck With Polytexture Floor
Application: When appearance and easy clean-up are important issues.
• Polytexture panels consist of a textured, beige or gray color, high density polyethylene overlay bonded via an exterior glue to a plywood base panel.
• Total panel thickness (polyethylene overlay + plywood base panel) of 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" are available. Tongue and groove edges are available and should be used whenever wheel loads exceed 200# each.
• Extremely durable under high wear usage such as wheels.
• Resistant to solvents, oils, acids, alkalis.
• Non-stick surface - glues and inks will not stick.
• Low maintenance - color is pigmented into polyethylene overlay (not coated on surface).
• Flexible material - can be bent, nailed, drilled, cut with woodworking tools.

Heavy-Duty Steel Bar Grating
Application: Catwalks, exteriors or when light & airflow are important.
• Bar grating is a non-combustible steel deck.
• Typical bar grating (19W4, 1" x 1/8") is 82% open. The grating may provide some air circulation and lighting below the mezzanine, however, it is directly influenced by the amount of material stored on the mezzanine.
• A sprinkler system may or may not be required (Note: Subject to water flow analysis by insurance companies, building inspectors and fire marshalls).

Roof Deck With Steel Floor Plate
Application: Fire resistant and durable. Ideal for heavy point loads.
• Commonly used for foundry and chemical environments. Also can be used in food processing plants which require strict sanitary conditions.
• In situations of extreme point loads, steel plate will help distribute the weight efficiently throughout the structure.

Roof Deck With Concrete Floor
Application: Washdown areas. Heavy manufacturing.
• A solid deck creates a sound resistant work environment for employees on top and below the mezzanine system.
• Easy to clean.
