Meet the Team: Fab Day Shift
Meet the team of people who keep everything running at Cubic Designs’ Waupaca, WI manufacturing facility.
Prior to joining Cubic Designs in 2001, John Bella spent 7 years working at a book manufacturer full time on the 3rd shift while attending college during the day. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Accounting. As the Director of Manufacturing at Cubic Designs’ manufacturing facility in Waupaca, WI, John does a little bit of everything. His main goal is to keep things running smoothly so that projects go out on time all while maintaining a high standard for quality. In his spare time, John spends as much time with his kids and outdoors as he can. From hunting and fishing year round, to mountain biking and camping, if he’s not at work, he’s probably outside.
Sherri joined Cubic Designs in 2011 after working for a pharmaceutical company based out of Illinois for 20 years. As the Office Administrator, Sherri plays a vital role in day to day operations. She does everything from answering phones to entering invoices. She also takes care of time sheet entry for the entire team at Waupaca. Outside of work, Sherri enjoys spending time with her grandson, gardening and scrap-booking.
Gene has been a part of the Cubic Designs team since the plant first opened in Waupaca in 2001. Before he joined the team, he spent some time as a dairy and potato farmer. He also worked in other manufacturing facilities. Gene is the First Shift Fab Foreman, in charge of general fab operations. When he’s not at the plant, he can often be found fishing or gardening.
In 2008, Kevin joined the Cubic Designs team in Waupaca, WI. Prior to that, he spent 17 years working at Steel King in Stevens Point, WI. As the First Shift Weld Shop Foreman, Kevin oversees and verifies the quality of all welding. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys hunting and fishing as well as attending his kids’ sporting events.
Prior to joining Cubic Designs in 2011, Andrew spent time working security for hospitals and as a sales manager for a food sales company. As the First Shift Paint Foreman, Andrew oversees the powder coat paint line. Outside of work, he loves to spend time with his kids, play softball and spend time outside when the weather is nice.
Prior to joining the Cubic Designs team in 2011, Paul held several different jobs. From working at a ski hill as a snowmaker and ski instructor, to working at Tyson Chicken, to working on a pipeline, Paul has a variety of experiences. Before joining Cubic, Paul had no experience in powder coat painting. He took it upon himself to learn as much as he could and he is now the 2nd Shift Paint Foreman. In his position he works with his team on packaging, loading the paint line, and performing quality checks. He is also in charge of training paint team members. He works hand in hand with the other foremen and supervisors to ensure the quality of every project that passes through his line. Outside of work, Paul loves to spend time with family and friends. He says he “tries to have as much fun as possible” fishing, hunting, swimming, camping, and singing.
